EasyJet Switzerland, Finnair, Germanwings, Jet2.com, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines,

Flight Frequency
As you might expect flights to Hungary are more frequent in the warmer
months of the year so do check on availability with the airlines above.
For instance the frequency of Ryanair flights to Budapest
are very much reduced in the winter months. However although during the
winter months flights may be reduced, the fact remains that Hungary is
a popular destination all year round, so is well serviced by the low cost
airlines from all around the UK and should you wish to visit even during
the winter months, low cost flights are still available. Each year new
UK airports are added to the schedules.
Airports in Hungary
There are currently 3 airports in use in Hungary at he moment, Budapest,
Balaton and Veszprem.
Budapest Airport of course is in the capital city, is
the busiest airport and receives most of the flights from the UK from
various airlines.
Balaton Airport is at the south end of Lake Balaton and
this makes it convenient if your ultimate destination is in that area.
Veszprem Airport is at the North end of Lake Balaton
but isn't currently described as an international airport. However due
to the European and international investments being made into Hungary
and specifically the Lake Balaton area,
a new international airport terminal building is in the process of being
built on an existing runway at Veszprem. This is due to be opened during
2009 and the money being spent on it is in the region of €39 million.
The existing 400 hectare airport is currently owned and operated by BudaWest
Airport. Their plans include extending the runway and being made suitable
to accomodate aircraft with a capacity of 130-150 passengers, building
a conference center, a logistics facility, a hotel, a technology park
and looking to the future a waterpark, a commercial centre, an entertainment
center and a casino.
